If you’re touring North Finistère from our campsite near the Ile de Batz, there are a few places that are an integral part of its tourist attractions. These include the Georges Delaselle garden, the Batz Island lighthouse and the unmissable white sand beaches.
Batz Island Lighthouse
It’s the major attraction on theisland of Batz. Located to the west on the highest hill, it faces the town of Roscoff and is listed as a historic monument. It has 198 steps, offering a splendid view of the whole island and its surroundings. The lighthouse still bears the marks of the German occupation, with bullet holes still visible.
The beaches of Porz
Take advantage of the many white sandy beaches, and at any time you’ll find a small, sheltered bosky bower tucked away in this . You need a change of scene. Porz Reter, Porz gwenn, Porz Leien or Porz Alliou is a sandy beach where you can go fishing. On this beach, you can make the most of your stay on theisland by swimming or even surfing.
Explore unspoilt wilderness
Nature rests on a rugged relief combined with arid, sandy soil. Theisland of Batz is a protected area that attracts many species of birds, including :

If you’re a fan of plants, you’ll be able to observe the presence of protected species such as Crithmum maritimum and Crambe maritima. Flowering on the island is always premature, giving rise to some very fragrant blossoms.
